It occurred to me that I never posted this on the tumblr, though it has been on the portfolio site for ages. Some early style-finding concept art for a children’s book I worked on. I think in the end the project may go a different direction, but it was good exploration. I got rather attached to the style, but sometimes that happens where you and the art director don’t see eye-to-eye… which many times is a blessing in disguise, because it forces you to break out of your comfort zone. On a side note, for all you science nerds out there, yes, I realize you wouldn’t see stars within the crescent of the moon, but I don’t much care… Call it artist’s prerogative or creative license or something. Anyway, happy Monday everyone. These next few weeks are going to be a whirlwind of work for me (hence the posting of old art), but hopefully I’ll be able to get a few work-break doodles in for the tumblr folk. Exciting stuff happening! Cheers!
